It may only be April but the chase for “Song of Summer 2015” is already heating up. Entering the mix today is “California Girl,” from Pretty Sister, the new project from Zak Waters, who has incorporated the most fitting elements from two iconic jams of summers past, Tupac’s “All Bout U” and Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” to create a slick new track hoping to capture the same magic.

Lifting Pac’s bumpin’ bass, the high-note hitting Waters re-packages Perry’s fun-loving hook to deliver a flirtatious groover and an early favorite for the sunny season’s highest honor. Looks like it’s time to roll those windows down and crank those speakers up.
