I stumbled across California three piece BABE a few months ago after a SoundCloud repost. Their infectious debut “Make It Real” [from Summer 2014] hit all the right ear-pleasing spots. Now I finally get to give them a proper plug as their new release “Baby You’re Right” is starting to generate the same buzz that landed them on my radar in the first place. The laid-back bopper boasts of crisp, refreshing alt-indie guitar licks and off-beat drum patterns, ripe for lead vocalist Derek Thomas to lend his well-suited harmonies to. This has ‘end of summer cool’ written all over it.
