The 1975’s new 80’s inspired sound, unlike the decades other forgettable styles, is here to stay. Taking to Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, the band just premiered I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it’s second single “UGH!,” a wavy pop rocker with plenty of abbreviated synths and off-center melodies to go ’round. Frontman Matty Healy credits their “obsession with syncopation and rhythm” as being at the forefront of the record. Well I’m sold, but you probably already knew that.
Listen for yourselves and be damn sure to order your copy of I like it when you sleep… out February 26th via Dirty Hit Records.
