Psalm One’s “Taming The Goddess” has been turning heads for the better part of a month now and for good reason. A bonus off of the Chicago flow spitter’s third studio album P.O.L.Y. [Psalm One Loves You], this stroke of lyrical genius comes correct as both a glimpse into the complexity of her innermost feelings and a dope club anthem. “Goddess” may seem at first a formulaic “steal your girl” cliche, but with Psalm delivering menacingly soulful introspection and producer Drew Mantia rocking a fresh bounce, the three and a half minute cut puts those other pretenders to shame.
