Oh the joys of SoundCloud, you never know what you’ll stumble upon.
Jackson Breit’s generation spanning cover of two of hip-hop’s great cuts has been racking up the spins for months, but I’m just now getting on board. The Los Angeles singer / songwriter / all around cool guy takes on Blackstreet’s smoove classic “No Diggity” and harmoniously integrates the modern day opus that is “679” from Fetty Wap.
And while the mashup may maintain the dope flow of the originals, it’s his touch of alt-indie flair and panty dropping falsettos that elevate this to insta-fave levels. Do yourself a solid and make this a must-listen. Then go ahead and check out his new EP Shades of Marmalade, out now via iTunes.
