After releasing her latest single, the slow burner “Sleep On It” earlier this month, Los Angeles’ Zealyn is back with the ruminating visual accompaniment. The simplistic, single-shot video finds our protagonist languishing something heavy, wandering pensively around the halls of a darkened and vacant office building, serving the tone of the sobering track well. It’s a thoughtful and mesmeric piece, aligned with the direction of the original cut.
But that’s just a taste of what’s to come for the young songstress in 2016. After three years as pop artist Angie Miller [you may remember her dropping powerful performances one after the other on Season 12 of American Idol], Zealyn is reinventing herself, taking on a more unconventional, experimental sound.
And to showcase that new shift she’s been readying her debut album, Limbic System, due out later this Summer. The album’s first offering “Talk: Listen” is already turning heads and dials alike so it’s no stretch of the imagination to see the future is bright with her ready to shine.
