Blink-182 – She’s Out of Her Mind

It’s been an interesting five years since Blink-182 released a studio album. Unspecified delays in recording and guitarist Tom DeLonge parting ways for a second time created an air of uncertainty around the band’s future. But fear not you faithful fans out there, the past is in the rearview and the trio [Hopus, Barker, and newest addition Matt Skiba] are forging ahead with the same pop-punk panache that has carried them through the last twenty-something years.

California, their seventh LP, hit digital airwaves this morning and is already receiving acclaim across the board. It has that old-school charm while keeping it fresh with a new-school attitude. And at 16 tracks, you’re in for a hearty helping of substantive rock.

Standout for this guy would have to be “She’s Out of Her Mind,” a track that kicks and kinda sounds like a few other Blink classics, but still works for good reason. The chord progression doesn’t let up and the inclusion of Skiba’s understated vocals on the track give it a unique feel unlike a few other Blink classics.

You be the judge below and then make sure to check out California, available now:
