It was a few months ago that Alicia Keys returned to the scene with her own slice of the current dancehall wave “In Common” and now it’s seeing an official remix from none other then prolific producer Kaskade.

The world-renowned beatflipper had this to say of the original:

I was immediately drawn to this track from first listen. Something about the composition compelled me to decide to put my own spin on it and I’m flattered that Alicia liked it enough to agree to give it her stamp of approval.

Not that it wasn’t obvious but the accomplished soloist in her own right has great taste. This new mix strips away the R&B tinges, instead laying down garage-house groundwork that serves as a dutiful bed for Keys’ vocals to still shine on. If the original wasn’t gaining much radio traction, this remix should do the damn trick.
