If there’s one thing I really appreciate, it’s a distinctive take on a well established piece of music. That’s just what duo Blondfire has offered up with their alt-pop spin on Twenty One Pilot’s current sensation “Heathens.”

The Los Angeles based brother and sister drop the rap-rock affections of the original and instead focus on darkly comfortable melodies through a simple acoustic turn; lead singer Erica Driscoll’s serene vocals really stand out over the subdued stringed elements.
