Usually I don’t really get down with drum & bass; it’s one of the few sub-genres of EDM that’s never clicked for me. I mean I love drums and I’m a big fan of bass, but there’s just something about the breakneck style I can’t groove with. Of course though there are exceptions to every rule, like conception-buster “Words,” the latest from Manchester beat-maker Feint featuring soloist Laura Brehm.

Released yesterday via Monstercat, the cut checks in with the familiar high-energy, low-frequency basslines but it’s Brehm’s vocal assist melodically meshing with this arrangement that sets the song apart. Maybe I’ll slowly but surely come around one of these days after all.
