Conor Maynard is killing the cover game right now. The Brighton songster has been turning out killer renditions of some of today’s biggest tunes at a breakneck pace recently and is showing no signs of letting up as he offers up another solid spin; his heartfelt take, with YouTube rapper Anth, on Maroon 5’s current cut “Don’t Wanna Know.”
Breaking from the electro-pop style of the original, Maynard instead delivers a rousing verse boosted by a few bars of the piano before dropping the hammer on the machine drum and kicking the piece up a needed notch. Enter Anth who brings a fresh flow, reminiscent of the precursor’s Kendrick Lamar break but an impassioned verse his very own.
And rounding out the collaboration is Conor, as he often does, interpolating another hit into the mix. The honors on this close’s soft serenade go to Drake’s “Good Ones Go.” It’s another something special from the young soloist, give it a stream below:
