It takes balls to cover Justin Timberlake these days. And it takes a pair of brass balls to re-imagine one of his early pop tracks as a deep house groover. But that’s just what UK beatsmith Eden Prince has mastered on his “Señorita” flip.
The contemporary rendition ups the tempo with some quickening four on the floor beats and shifts the masculine atmosphere of the original 180 degrees with a female as the song’s principal vocalist. And while my favorite part, JT’s call and response outro, may have been glossed over the new cut still holds up on its own and should be considered a welcomed compliment.
