At 72 years old, famed British rocker Rod Stewart still has it going on. The legendary soloist, enjoying nearly half a century’s worth of success, just inked a new partnership with Republic Records so to celebrate he’s released a re-imagining of his 1978 hit “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” with fellow labelmates DNCE.
Modernized for contemporary ears, the update lays the funk on heavy with pronounced synths and smooth bass grooves yet still maintains the disco appeal of the original. And the introduction of the Joe Jonas led foursome to this new version feels completely natural as the new standard bearer of general hotness lends his own charismatic verses to the cause.
But there’s no denying the elder statesman of pop when it comes to sexy. Rod Stewart isn’t giving that up anytime soon. Stream the revamp below and be sure to check out the first live performance this Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards.
