New music Fridays are the gosh darn highlight of my week. Dope tunes released just in time for a dope weekend; you can’t ask for anything better. Case in point: one of today’s standouts from Sydney soloist KLP.

“Never Be The Same” is pure sunny season substance dosed with a subtle lyrical shade, it’s just too bad us here in the Northern Hemisphere have to endure a cold stretch before we can truly enjoy it. The electroni-popper exudes a stylish warmth through its subtle synth-laden melodies and bouncy breakdown, but the glow dims when considering the emerging songstress’ sobering verse and hook; a juxtaposition that works in her favor.
