An Irish wit once said “youth is wasted on the young.” Well there is an exception to every rule and in this case it goes by the name of Ruel. Last year the fresh faced teenager impressed with stunning debut “Don’t Tell Me,” dropped another spellbinder in “Dazed and Confused,” and returns now with “Younger.”

Taken from his upcoming Ready EP [due out June 15 c/o RCA Records], the single is another piece of near soul-pop perfection. A steady midtempo beat keeps the pace with booming basslines, tickles of the organ, and background support from a lively choir, but it’s the matured bellows of the fifteen year old that rightly resonate. It’s clear, the young Aussie isn’t squandering any of his adolescence right now.
