New Jersey creatives Water Street, a year after releasing their full length’r All We Tried to Be, return with the poignantly penned “Pen Pals.”
Soulful, acoustic melodies meet a galvanizing rhythm section on this anthem of empowerment, marking a shift in sound for the band. Speaking to the switch-up, the band shares:
In the past our music has been classified as Americana…because a lot of the songs are normally built around the acoustic guitar. We really wanted [this song] to be a clear line in the sand that we can make music in the pop/rock genre as well.
Can and do, rather well too!
