Second such preview of her newly announced debut album They Say They Love You [out Feb. 2], “Martyr” goes hard with an unrelenting thump and a determined, almost possessed flow. Focusing on the messaging, LUCI shares:
I wanted to give the people lyrics, it’s a song for the ego, something for my people to chant. I’m on my lil rap jug. Power, pressure, hard and loud but melodic.
