corook was a delightful 2022 find for DH. Seriously, if you haven’t fucked with “snakes” I can’t talk to you. So it’s quite lovely to see the good-natured creative continue what’s what in 2023.

After a string of solo singles and part one of their serious person era, they share part two and it’s more of that successful same.

It’s a quick five-hitter but that time is used efficiently as our sonic curator packs each track with meaningful emotion and energy. But two highlights, “I FORGOT” and “party party party!,” loom larger as a result of a “fun and funky” bent felt throughout this second chapter.

The excitement for more is beginning to palpitate.
