Up-and-coming singer+producer ammar is following up last year’s debut album farewell, xx with new project WHAT’S BEHIND BLUE SKIES? and new single “empty suitcase.”

The EP’s closing track leans into the experimental punk sound surging through the rest of the work, but adds a touch of traditional pop in melody and messaging. Speaking to purpose, the soloist shares:

it ties the existentialism all back together as I’m fighting for my sanity again.

And that sentiment is captured so succinctly with the last line of the song: “somehow, I always end up circling back to my old ways.”
