Don’t worry, this piece is not yet another critical takedown of Justin Timberlake’s latest album Everything I Thought It Was. While the album is somewhat of an uneven collection, let’s be real dood may never top FutureSex/LoveSounds, there are still some surefire hits snuck in here and there.
Like track #2, the edgy, disco-pop cut “F**kin’ Up The Disco”. The album’s first true bop finds the longtime creative at his best, carefree crooning over a pepp’d groove, and sets the tone for the project’s lighter moments (i.e. does not let itself get bogged down in the R&B-styled snoozer half of the new LP).
People are going to say what they want but know there are two sides to every song.
