Poignant introspection gets the cheery pop approach as rising London artist Dalia shares her current listen “Late Night Dive.”
Concerning the shame felt after hurting a cherished confidant, the alt-indie cut manages to wield a bright sensibility despite the somber lyrical content. Acutely layered rhythmic runs weave their way through a full-bodied melody to build a rich soundscape in which she is left to convey her sonic candor.
Opening up about the real-life impetus, Dalia says:
[LND] is a song about the difficult experience of breaking someone’s heart. Last year, I ended things with a guy who was really into me because I didn’t feel the same way. Until then, I had always been the one heartbroken or led on, so this was a new and painful perspective for me.
