Bristol-based bandmates Make Friends are making the most of their Loaded Fun EP run-up [out Sep. 13] with the release of alt-pop preview “I Lose, You Lose.”

As the title suggests this refrain isn’t a cheery one, but despite the focus on a mutual uncoupling the release still manages to strike an optimistic current. Their juxtaposition of effusive strings and pulsating thumps against the realizations of heartache makes even the most bitter medicine go down a little easier.
