Exciting things are happening for the busy busy Prima Queen these days as the duo recently signed to Submarine Cat Records and begin the rollout of their upcoming debut LP release with the first such preview “Fool.”
And what an introduction this scrutiny of a failed coupling is. An airy and aching approach sets the tone while shimmering pop sensibilities sift through the entirety, making for an angsty, alt-indie anthem worth your time. Touching on the cut’s intentions, the two share:
[This song] is about loving someone who is anxious, avoidant and grappling with the fact that they’re incapable of giving you the type of love that you need…We started it years ago but kept changing the lyrics because it never felt quite finished. It wasn’t until the relationship was over when we finally understood what we were trying to say.
That may not be the closure the band want, but it’s the closure we the listeners need.
