Slaney Bay – Countdown

Ahead of their EP The Long Way Home reveal [out early 2025], South West Londoners Slaney Bay start the preview process with their punchy take on young love “Countdown.”

An alt-indie offering of sublime sensibility, the new cut channels a euphoric spirit of trepidation through its lively punch and lovesome vocality. The nerves and anxiety wrapped up in an intense crush are fleshed out by way of bustling rhythm and a layer of animated percussion sported by new addition, drummer Jonny Burraway-Andrews.

But the newly minted four-piece embrace that unease here, explaining:

[It’s like] when you show up to a house party just in case that one person arrives. And your eyes instinctively find them in the crowd, like love-drunk tunnel-vision. In [this song] the question of “Will we happen?” becomes “Let’s make us happen right now”
