UK singer+songwriter twiddy, engaging a spoken word approach on his new tune, is making a statement about stepping out of comfort zones on “Overthinking.”
Backed by lively keys and a funky bassline, the anthemic-minded musing marks a shift in style for the soloist but works well in his favor. The poetic application breaks up the sonic monotony and adds a layer of singularity otherwise not often heard. As he puts it:
It’s okay to be an overthinker. Overthinking, to me, is just your brain’s natural way of dealing with a lot of pressure, or being out of your comfort zone. I had some vocal melody ideas for the verses but it didn’t do what I needed it to do, so I wrote a little poem and it just clicked.
No overthinking this one. Just press play.
