When she’s not mixing it up with The 1975 on tour, playing guitar and singing backup, Polly Money is showcasing her own talent on listens like her latest “i’m not proud.”
The accomplished musician, leaning into her alt-indie credentials, crafts a sublety smooth groove replete with retro-tuned keys, synthful swoons, and spirited vocal effort. But it’s the flirtatious candor strewn throughout the lyricism that will leave a lasting impression. She shares:
[This song] is all about playing around with the idea that music and lyrics can convey two different emotions and I love that. it’s bouncy and happy sonically, but also about having a naughty lil crush. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and we had a lot of fun recording it.
Well, now we’re having a lot of fun listening to it.
