Somebody’s Child – “Last Night I Held Your Hand”

Dublin creatives Somebody’s Child are kicking off their 2025 in fine fashion as they release their sonic sentiment on the growing importance of maturation today, the poignantly penned “Last Night I Held Your Hand.”

The second such single from the band’s upcoming LP When Youth Fades Away [out Mar. 28], this galvanizing groove matches euphoric and expansive choruses with a glimpse of Americana-inspired swagger. And inspires a true sense of incorruptibility through its lyrical approach. Frontperson Cian Godfrey expounds:

We wrote it during an autumn-turned-winter trip to Western Wales, and it marked the beginning of a sound that would ultimately define the album. It carries a sense of innocence from earlier releases, yet breathes new life into the direction this album has taken.

Well said. Well sung.
