Efficiency is a concept currently garnering a lot of buzz here in the States; specifically within the government sector. But for English act Self Esteem it takes on a whole ‘nother significance when applied to…various sexual positions.
Set to an almost sinister house cadence, the aptly titled “69” is a frank, matter-of-fact discourse on the pros and cons of libidinous calibration. And Digital High is obsessed.
The groove is adorned with modulated bits and bobs, but it’s the soloist’s stream-of-conciousness lyricism that resonate so strongly. She shares:
I always wanted to write a song that lists sex positions and rates them. A lot of my music is saying the things I struggle to say in real life. I like the idea of clearly communicating your needs in one quick, three-minute house song.
We could all use that kind of confidence in our lives. Let “69” be your guide 😉
