HAIM – “Relationships”

The sisters HAIM seem to have this uncanny knack for knocking out certified ear-worms over their career trajectory. “Relationships,” from their upcoming, untitled fourth studio album, fits that mold to a T.

This slice of alt-pop turns the notion of structured commitment on its head as modern minds debate their practicality. All in the guise of a good groove.

Subtle percussion gives way to a funk’d aesthetic before the pace settles into its head-nodding and hip-swaying sensibility. That’s all Danielle Haim, who co-produced alongside Rostam, needs to compliment with her fair and frank lyrical hooks in this song for single girl summer.

Fucking relationships.
