Bakers Eddy – “Dust On My Brain”

For their second such taste of new project I’m Doing Better [EP out June 6], New Zealand four-set Bakers Eddy engage in some sonic introspection on their new tune “Dust On My Brain.”

Written as band front’r Ciarann Babbington was in the middle of mental health spiral, the pop-punk piece with an edgy rock aesthetic serves as anthemic release and avenue for necessary catharsis. Elaborating on his circumstance, or lead vocalist shares:

[This song] comes from a feeling of having the walls close in around you, and being trapped in self destructive cycles…I don’t tend to write songs when my mental health is struggling, but this one kind of poured out when I was at my lowest and it ended being the catalyst for change which I’m very grateful.

That’s the power of music. Embrace it fully.
