Luke Bower – “Dopamine and Jesus”

It’s rare you’ll find a scant trace of spiritual music strewn throughout the pages of Digital High; I just don’t believe. But even the most ardent non-believer knows you need a little Jesus in their life every now and then. Enter Texas singer-songwriter Luke Bower and his Christian-folk cut of pure Americana “Dopamine and Jesus.”

Title track from his newly pressed, debut album, this earnest offering is a vista into the soloist’s mindful approach to music-making. An acoustic guitar guides listeners on their way before the percussion picks up its thump and our singer makes his malaise known. It’s in that sobering lyrical content that the track finds it sonic soul.

We may not be one of the many faithful, but tracks like this will make you a believer…even for just a moment.
