Having made a name for themselves on the festival circuit, Cork-based 24-piece (!) live house and techno big jazz band BoolaBoom are breaking into the mainstream consciousness with the announcement of their debut EP and its title track “Shuffle.”

As if the excitement of their live shows has been concentrated in this studio cut, the piece comes alive as bluesy brass, a samba-sourced tenor, and house heat create this moment of fervent exuberance. Couple that with more four-on-the-floor runs and a Brazilian-esque call and response and this full-bodied listen leaves a lasting impression.
