Revered rock group Silverstein are setting ambitions high as they’ve announced a 16-song, double LP release set for September, Pink Moon. Their first taste is a first step in that direction.
“Negative Space” kicks into high gear from go as a relentless pace demands alert attention across an ever-expanding soundscape; genres be damned as this cut absorbs itself in elements across the rock expanse. Guitarist Paul Marc Rousseau shares some insight:
I think the coolest thing about [the song] is how off-balance it makes me feel. It’s almost like it’s slightly too fast so it’s always trying to catch up to itself. That, combined with the fact that it’s always switching vibes and using contrasting tones makes for a really interesting 3 minutes.
They’re well on their way if this listen is a harbinger of things to come.
