Fujii Kaze – “Prema”

Having just wow’d Digital High with his beautiful ode “Hachikō”, rising Japanese singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze is staking a claim for pop notoriety as he releases a third studio effort (first in English) and it’s exciting title track “Prema.”

Referencing the Sanskrit word for “divine love”, the R&B-tinged bop’r is all about embracing the joy. Jaunty black and whites jump off the track while bounce’d out percussion carts the cadence through. But not to be overshadowed, the soloist’s impassioned vocality shines bright throughout (most notably in the post-bridge breakdown).

If he wanted the spotlight, he’s earned it.
