Creating inclusive-minded music for the masses, NYC queer icon Cazwell bumps to his own beat on recent LP HITS ALL OVER YOUR FACE [The Peace Bisquit Collection]; a mammoth double compilation album hyped by it’s stand out track “LET’s GO!”
Leaning into his hip-hop pedigree, the fiery flowicist drops a 2011 verse and hook inspired by the promising outlook at the time while featured production duo 808 BEACH add a touch of electro-clash funk to turn out this bouncy, alt-dance experience for late nights living it up. Speaking to the message of that moment, Cazwell shares:
The optimistic tone of the record is symbolic of a great time to be alive in New York City. Obama was President, there was a lot of progress with the gay rights movement, people seemed to have money and they were spending it in the clubs…[This song] is that no-brainer party anthem about the excitement that comes with knowing youβre going dancing tonight.β
Damn, has it been nearly 15 years already? Get down with that hit of nostalgia while the getting is good.
