Belfast post-punkers Chalk, having just announced debut LP Crystalpunk [out Mar. 13], are solemnizing the news with release of blistering new single “I.D.C.”
Dubbed the danciest track on the new album by the duo, the alt-minded cut channels a galvanizing undercurrent of chaotic energy as unrelenting percussion and swirling synths stimulate something urgent alongside. Ross Cullen, one half of the whole, puts it:
[This song] captures a fictional night out β self-destruction disguised as celebration, knives twisting beneath the strobe.
Plus, it just kind of bumps big.
