SoCal trio Super Sometimes, after wowing with their debut album last year, are back with their first new material since and it’s anything but an “Afterthought.”
Deliberate and piercing pop-punk, the lead single to their newly announced album Show the World What’s Underneath [out May 15] is the perfect first-preview. Sweeping riffs and a relentless percussive section set this single on its way before turning into a melancholic moment in the bittersweet chorus. The three-set tell it like this:
[This song] held its hand up as the clear opener to the album as soon as it was written. From the beautifully melancholic verse to the finger-point–inducing chorus, the song is haunting and riddled with passion in both its lyrics and vocal delivery.
I have a feeling this one is going to stick with you for a few.
