It’s been dang near five years, but famed act The Pussycat Dolls return to the pop sphere to give the girls what they’re dying for: a “Club Song.”
Reuniting as a tight trio (Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts) now, the remaining may three have slimmed down their lineup but the full-bodied thrill that first made them famous is still ever present on this dance-pop bop. The new tune taps into the anthemic-minded era of Y2K pop, with a contemporary twist, as tribal beats and synth-heavy runs and rhythms dominate the club cut.
This new troupe may have been streamlined for efficiency’s sake but the same magic that made this girl group a household name is still on vivid display today.
