Charlie Puth ft. Michael McDonald & Kenny Loggins – “Love In Exile”

Now that Charlie Puth is married and a new father, it’s easy to understand his transition to adult-contemporary Yacht Rock’r on new album Whatever’s Clever! He’s in his dad-core era and we are hear for it on the all-star, all-grown collaboration “Love In Exile.”

Featuring two heavy-weights of the genre, sound innovators Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins, the slick groove took a team effort to come to fruition as all three acts meddled together in one room.

Puth opened up to Vulture about the process:

I went to the piano and started playing something that was cool, but it wasn’t killing any of us. It wasn’t making us feel anything. So Kenny came over to me, holding his guitar, and said, β€˜I think you should let Mike play the keyboard.”

And the rest was studio magic.
