I first happened upon Johnny Stimson about a year ago after his release of “Daddy’s Money,” a funky upbeat party starter. As a rule, I became a fan. There’s just something about soulful white boys putting it down that I can’t resist.

His latest is no exception. With “Obsession,” the Dallas native keeps the good-time grooves flowing. An inspired bassline demands your consideration. Beautifully strung together synths breathe life into the track. And impassioned vocals amplify this aural treat.
