Eazy-E – Gimme That Nutt [Throwback]

The year was 1993. Former NWA members Eazy-E and Dr. Dre were in the midst of a full tilt hip-hop feud, slinging diss tracks up and down the West Coast. Back East I found myself embroiled in the very real, very heated G.I. Joe vs. Cobra fracas.

“Gimme That Nutt”, one of the lighter cuts off of It’s On (Dr Dre) 187um Killa finds the Torrance MC stepping back from the high-profile estrangement for a momentary pause. Instead of trading barbs, Eazy flips 1965’s Green Acres theme song to trade some overly gratuitous rhymes. Now I’d normally insert a line or two as an example but this is a family friendly blog. That shit is way too fucking vulgar for impressionable minds. Which reminds me, the first time I ever heard this G-funk classic was Freshmen year of college when my Southern Baptist friend from Houston flipped it on and belted out every last lewd line. Here is this sweet, innocent girl who the day before was probably extolling all the merits of Jesus, rattling off gems like “can’t wait till I stick it in ya” and “always fuckin’ is the life for me”. To this day I’m still taken aback by that.

In any case, “Nutt” is a nice breather among an otherwise bitter dustup between former friends.
