It may be 2016 but racial injustice is sadly still prevalent. Especially here in the United States, but this scourge is not isolated to our borders alone. It’s a global issue that affects global citizens so for their latest Divas and Demons cut, Australian duo REMI have offered up the soulfully crafted “Lose Sleep.”

Since our last record, a lot of young mixed race Aussie kids have come to me talking about how much they can relate to the racial struggle in our music. I don’t think that’s a good thing, but I’m proud that these kids feel a little less alone, because of some songs we didn’t think anyone would hear.

That theme resonates loud and clear on the subtly slick percussive track that also features a tenderly rousing vocal effort from soloist Jordan Rakei. Music with a message will always have a home on these pages.
