Everyone’s favorite Swedish firebrand Erik Hassle has been gearing up for the release of Innocence Lost, his first album in nearly five long years, with a steady string of quality cuts you’d likely expect, but that wait is finally over as the full-length drops today. It’s a thorough and squarely matured display of his music-making capacity, a project longtime fans and new ears will appreciate.

But I’d like to single out one relatively irrepressible track today, the funky R&B tinged “Silver & Gold.” Seriously sexy in all the right ways, Hassle ruminates on a love that might not be over a smoldering, near new-wave groove. Parts alluring and emotive, it captures the man’s accomplished aural ability concisely.
