Tyler, The Creator – I Ain’t Got Time!

Tyler, The Creator is one of hip-hop’s more stylishly discordant acts with a zero-fucks attitude that manifests itself quite literally on his tracks. His latest only adds to that reputation.

“I Ain’t Got Time!” another preview off of his upcoming long player Flower Boy, is a fresh take on self-confidence and self-awareness. Over a synth-laden cacophony of dizzying beats and samples, the Odd Future rapper boasts braggadocio while subtly softening up. Often accused of homophobia, he drops lyrics like “Next line will have ’em like ‘Whoa’ / I’ve been kissing white boys since 2004.” Not just a one-off, that sexual openness is a running theme throughout the album.
