JCY ft. SisQó – Thong Song

What is old is new again, I guess.

2017 has been a banner year for remakes of old cinema, television, and even trials of the century, so it’s no surprise to see a SisQó classic receiving the same treatment. Dusting off one of the 90’s biggest summer smashes, Norway’s beat-crafting trio JCY flip the “Thong Song” from a pop scorcher into a contemporary EDM squeaker.

I’m all for reinventing old favorites, especially when taken in chance new directions, but this revamp feels cheap and manipulative even with updated vocals from SisQó and an accessible sunny season groove.
