They say everybody wants to be a rockstar, so its no surprise to see Alabama rhyme-spitter Yelawolf channeling his inner frontman in the video for his latest single “Punk.” Joined by experienced rocker Travis Barker on the drums and Juicy J donning his finest mink, Yela goes HAM, dropping rapid-fire verse after verse, in front of a crowd only a tatted-out mother could love.
The visuals seemingly are an extension of the track’s raucous design; hip-hop hardihood juxtaposed against Southern rock rawness plays out on screen in the most bad-ass way possible. It’s easy to understand the rockstar appeal here.
