A simple blackbear tweet that speaks volumes. Who doesn’t suffer from the almost debilitating affliction known as anxiety, at least a modicum every now and then? Hell, I endure a small dose every morning when I open up the site views page; it’s just human nature. So its no wonder the emerging sensation’s cybersex standout tackling the idea has seen the viral love over the past few days.
The decidedly poppy affair, an about face from most of the rest of his downtempo debut released yesterday, features singer/producer FRND and his clear electroni-pop influences. Swirling synths set an early tone before layered bass beds take the track into trap-lite territory, but it’s the vocal back and forth between the two that gains the most melodic traction. bear’s rap-sing style is the clear focus but FRND’s own verse and bridge plays nicely as the harmonic component it was intended to be.
Almost therapeutic in a sense, stream the cut below and grab a copy of cybersex available now c/o Beartrap
