It was a sad day for fans of great music across the globe after word of Dolores O’Riordan’s sudden death began to spread yesterday. The Cranberries’ lead singer’s unique tone excited so many and won’t soon be forgotten. So after nearly glancing passed this inbox option, I figured a proper write up could not be more fitting today.

Brooklyn based soloist Reigen takes on the Irish rocker’s 1993 classic “Dreams” and instantly makes it his own through a familiarity of personal affection lifted by a genuine instrumentation; the emotion behind his lyrical understanding is entirely evident when coupled with the synthful pop electronica.

And while the impassioned take has been updated for contemporary ears, O’Riordan’s unmistakable hook subtly lingers in a welcomed nod to the original. A celebration of sound and a joyous compliment; stream the cover below:
