Akine – Pray For The Prey

When war tears your country apart at the age of thirteen, the thoughts and emotions running through your mind are scary, unbelievable, and in some cases inspiring. Ukranian singer-songwriter Akine took to the pen when her homeland was ravaged by the Maidan protests and consequent fallout, writing the profoundly rousing single “Pray For The Prey.”

Now seventeen, the young soloist is finally sharing her debut with the world ahead of upcoming EP Don’t Foster Fear. Alt-pop at its core, the cut becomes so much more when taking into consideration the impassioned experiences behind the lyricism and stirring solicitude put forth through the production. She says of the track:

It was painful to see the country I love falling apart and my family suffering as a consequence. This song captures what I felt at that moment in time
