As a product of the 1980s, I always welcome nostalgic nods to the decadent decade. So it will come as no surprise that Sheila and the Kit’s salute to its synthful sounds is featured on these pages.

“Time Again” is the Dutch synthpop act’s effervescent latest, a blend of upbeat wistfulness and infectious electronic innovation. Rustling percussive elements set the tone before a synth-driven groove takes hold and lead singer Suzanne Kipping lavishes the track with her lush vocal runs. It’s quite simply a melodic throwback for modern ears.
